Among many other descriptions, the lotus flower is a symbol of self-regeneration, rebirth, purity and enlightenment. My first company was called Lotus Sanctuary and I continue to be drawn to the stories, symbolism and strength of the lotus flower. This flower grows in muddy waters, even when the roots are in the dirtiest of waters, it pushes its way to the top and blooms into a beautiful flower. Just like the lotus, I have had a lot of experience trudging through the mud and starting again. Along this journey I had the support of many others. Everyday I do my best to give back, support and encourage others to move forward. In 2019 I was honored to be selected as an Ambassador of Change with G Adventures. Please join me on my many adventures around the world and back again.
My name is Jodi. I am passionate about the traveler experiencing local culture and people, not just checking off the list of top tourist sites. With hands on experience trekking in the Himalayas and the Andes, attempting to surf off the coast of Australia, speed skating as a kid in freezing cold Wisconsin, kayaking in New Zealand, living in a high rise in Medellin, driving a 4x4 in the desert of Jordan and standing in awe at the fjords of Norway, I not only bring my spirit of adventure but also my compassion and purpose to creating the best itinerary for your adventure. My goal with this blog is to help inspire mindful adventures whether they are across the globe or in your own back yard. I want to hear from you. Let's inspire each other! What have you done in your local community or while on vacation to support or encourage another person? I believe we can continue to make the world a better place. A world where more people can live without fear and continue to support their local communities, by giving back, showing compassion and learning from each other.

Tuina methods include the use of hand and arm techniques to massage the soft tissue (muscles and tendons) of the body, stimulation of acupressure points to directly affect the flow of Qi energy and manipulation techniques to realign the musculoskeletal and ligamentous relationships. External herbal poultices, compresses, liniments and salves as well as cupping are also used to enhance the other therapeutic methods.
Tuina is utilized in Chinese hospitals as an in-patient as well as an out-patient therapy. Tuina Bodywork uses the Traditional Chinese Medical theory of channels and collaterals (meridians or pathways) and the flow of the Qi energy. Through the application of massage and manipulation techniques, Tuina seeks to establish a more harmonious Qi energy through the system of channels, allowing the body to naturally heal itself.
